Zoie So is an artist who is majoring in material science and nanotechnology. She is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Interactive Media, School of Communication at Hong Kong Baptist University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong in 2004 and then went on, with the support of several scholarships and art grants, to complete her Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts: Open Media at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, in 2008. Her works have been exhibited in Hong Kong, Montreal, Ottawa, Milan, Ptuj, Geneva and Ålvik. Her innovative project City Fenestration was granted with a Hong Kong Short-term patent and filed in a China Invention Patent in 2020. Her public art Photosynthesis in Motion was commissioned by the Tamar Public Art Project, while the video installation art Mediated Landscape was also selected for the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Awards 2012.

Zoie’s work features the spheres of light art, electronic art, mechanical design, digital graphics and programming at interplay, communicating to yield sculptures, multimedia installations, and performances of diverse nature. She finds that deep engagement in the practice of art is a holistic process that reveals the active connections taking effect in life, society,  nature and the universe between micro and macro spectra in all fields, which lead the artist and the audience in turn to a comprehensive sense of intimate issues.

 

蘇慧怡現專修物料及納米科技研究,任職於香港浸會大學傳理學院互動媒體系。蘇氏2004年畢業於香港城市大學創意媒體學院,2008 年於加拿大蒙特利爾康克迪亞大學獲得藝術創作碩士,期間她曾獲多項獎學金及藝術資助。其作品曾於香港、蒙特利爾、米蘭普圖伊及日內瓦多地展出。公眾藝術作品《葉一片‧光合動態》於2012年添馬艦公眾藝術計劃中獲委約,而作品《顯微山水》更入選香港當代藝術獎2012。蘇氏的藝術創作糅合了物料技術、光藝術、電子科技、機械設計、程式編寫及數碼影像,作品以雕塑、跨媒體裝置及表演等形式展出。
